Welcome to the storsand.net website!

Welcome to storsand.net based in the beautiful country of Norway.

News at storsand.net

This is a new site, and still under development, many pages are still blank - although all the links should work.
You won't find any "under construction" notices here, the whole site is constantly under construction.

Here you'll find Anti-Virus and Security information, and links to some of the most useful and interesting sites on the web.

Because we know that "all work and no play makes Jack a dull boy", there's also some humour here. You should be warned however that this is the kind of stuff that people who earn a living from analyzing viruses find funny, it's not to everyone's taste.

storsand.net introduces Norman Virusfeed.

Norman ASA has made up-to-the-minute virus information to web-site designers.
As new viruses are analysed and definitions added to the definition database the information is simultaneously made available on the Norman web-site.
This information is also made available to other web content publishers via the inclusion of a simple script on the web-page.

Douglas Noel Adams Douglas Noel Adams (1952 - 2001)

Douglas Adams died suddenly following a heart attack on the 11th May 2001 aged 49.
Having been a fan since first hearing "The Hitch-Hiker's Guide To The Galaxy", broadcast by the BBC in 1978, this comes as something of a shock.
Read tributes to this great man at douglasadams.com.

Now there was a man who really knew where his towel was.

The Salmon Of Doubt For those of you who were fans I'm sure that you've already read "The Salmon of Doubt" (touchingly subtitled "Hitching the Galaxy One Last Time")

For those who weren't fans, this is still a great read, showing a depth that many may not be aware of, knowing only of the Hitch-Hiker's Guide.

There's a good review at the Random House online catalog, where the book can be purchased online.

The Salmon of Doubt can also be purchased at amazon.co.uk

What's New at storsand.net?

New additions and updates to the storsand.net website include :

  • The menu script is updated to version 4.0.10. This means that users of the Netscape 6 and Mozilla browsers should be able to use the menus.
More information can be found at the hierMenus site for those who are interested.
Please contact us if you experience problems with the menus.

  • New articles in the humour section of quotes taken from court transcripts, and the now famous "General Motors Press Release" describing automobiles had they evolved in the same way as Microsoft operating-systems.

  • Although many articles are, as yet, unfinished, the site has recently been re-designed and now makes use of style-sheets for the page style and layout.
There is little outward indication that anything has changed, but the use of style-sheets means that new information can be published much more quickly whilst still conforming to the storsand.net look-and-feel.
